A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of 431 mobile devices seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with an alleged cyber-fraud operation.
The devices were recovered from a network of Chinese nationals accused of operating a large-scale cyber-fraud scheme from a seven-storey building in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the case, the suspects allegedly used the facility to train local recruits to carry out online romance and investment scams targeting victims.
The court’s final forfeiture order transfers ownership of the seized devices to the state, following proceedings brought by the EFCC over their alleged connection to the fraud operation.
