Jordan Wike, son of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, has tendered his American passport before an FCT High Court in Abuja in an ongoing dispute over an alleged $2.1 million land transaction.
The passport was produced after Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025 — the date the claimants allege that money was handed to him in connection with a proposed land acquisition in Abuja. The court subsequently ordered him to produce the document.
The case, marked CV/008/2026, was brought by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited. The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape, and that $2.1 million was subsequently paid in connection with the proposed transaction.
According to the claimants’ account, $2 million of the alleged payment was intended for Nyesom Wike, while $100,000 was allegedly intended for Jordan. These are allegations made in the proceedings and have not been established by a final judgment.
Jordan has denied receiving the money and has rejected the allegations. He has also disputed the authenticity of a document bearing a signature attributed to him, telling the court that the signature was forged.
During cross-examination, Jordan said he was outside Nigeria on the date on which the claimants say the alleged payment was made and that he travelled using his American passport.
The claimants subsequently applied for the passport to be produced in court, and the judge granted the application.
The court admitted the passport in evidence, made a copy for its records and returned the original to Jordan. The defence was directed to ensure that the original document is produced again if required during the proceedings.
The court also directed Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on plain sheets of paper following an application by the claimants’ counsel. The defence did not oppose the application.
The matter remains before the court, with further proceedings scheduled for December 1, 2 and 14, 2026.
No final determination has been reported on the underlying allegations.
