The Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) has announced that its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold from August 6 to 8, 2026, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with a focus on promoting responsible and ethical Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising ahead of Nigeria’s next political campaign season.
The three-day event, scheduled to take place at Park Inn by Radisson, IBB Boulevard, Kuto, Abeokuta, will be held under the theme: “OOH Media in Political Campaign Season: Policies, Politics, and Fair Practice.”
According to the association, the AGM will bring together practitioners, industry leaders, regulators and other key stakeholders to deliberate on emerging issues shaping the future of Nigeria’s Out-of-Home advertising industry, particularly the ethical, professional and regulatory dimensions of political advertising.
As the association’s highest statutory decision-making body, the AGM will also provide members with the opportunity to review OAAN’s activities over the past year, consider reports from the Executive Council and various committees, deliberate on key industry matters, and adopt resolutions aimed at strengthening the association and advancing the sustainable growth of the OOH advertising sector.
OAAN said the choice of theme underscores its commitment to promoting professionalism, regulatory compliance and responsible advertising practices during electioneering campaigns. Discussions at the conference are expected to examine the role of Out-of-Home media in supporting credible democratic processes while encouraging adherence to established policies, industry ethics, transparency and fair practices by all stakeholders.
Speaking on the forthcoming AGM, OAAN President, Mr. Sola Akinsiku, described the annual meeting as a critical platform for accountability, transparency, good governance and collective decision-making within the association.
He stressed that active participation by members would be instrumental in shaping policies and strategies that would sustain the industry’s relevance, encourage innovation and foster long-term growth.
The association has urged all members to make the necessary arrangements to attend the AGM and complete their registration ahead of the event.
The Executive Council also expressed confidence that the 41st AGM would deepen professional collaboration among members, promote the exchange of ideas and provide a roadmap for the continued development of Nigeria’s Out-of-Home advertising industry.
OAAN is the umbrella body representing practitioners and media owners in Nigeria’s Out-of-Home advertising industry. The association promotes professionalism, ethical standards, innovation, self-regulation and sustainable growth while advancing the collective interests of its members.
